I thought this person was asking present and past OWNERS of Silverwings for thier opinion, not someone who once test rode one or might at one time have thought about owning one. Am i wrong?? :)

Your not wrong. I'm still thinking of getting one. I'm just waiting for one at the right price to pop up nearby. If it turns I don't like it I can always sell it... The biggest concern for me was mpg at motorway speed. Though I won't be doing massive motorway mileage so mpg won't be to big an issue. I'm planning on spending no more than £2000, so I think that'll only get me the earlier 'thirstier' model. If I do really like it but want some extra mpg then I can always save up for a 2006+ model...

Pedant!!!! Whats the point of a forum if we can't give everyone the benefit of our ill informed off-topic opinions???

Iam just pointing out that I have never owned a Tmax, or 650 Burgman or Harley Davidson therefore i cannot give any advice on them to anyone else! Ihave owned a 250 BSA c11g. A Triumph 21, 350. and many other bikes i could give an opinion on, bikes, i have actually owned , serviced and riden. :) Drago, icannot understand how people cannot get the mpg i do. I do nothing special, i don't do racing starts , i don't bomb up to lights that are on red i usually coast to them and keep moving. One thing i do extra perhaps, is put Redex fuel injecter mixture in every tankful. I also run a AN400Burgman that is now 13yrs old, again, i always put Redex in a full tank and usually get 78 -84mpg. I do change filters regulary and another tip is to fit Iridium plugs for thier long life, well worth it in my opinion. I've been riding for over 50yrs so i've learned a thing or two.

Just watched that you tube Pikey thankyou, that was most enjoyable. Great to see so many enjoying themselves but, for me i like to be alone, or maybe up to 5 companions at most, and, i prefer the "B" roads, to long straight stretches, with plenty of bends. :D

Again thanks for that, I think without the animated pillion rider, he could have taken those bends a lot quicker. The kind of roads i would have turned around and done a couple of more times, reminds me of the roads around Settle and Hawes in Yorkshire. If its not raining tomorrow i might have a ride out that way, first of this year. :)

i got my silverwing a few months ago after having a vespa gts 250. i would not swap the silverwing for all the tea in china. i love it, fast, comfertable, plenty of storage ect ect ect. i never look at how much fuel im using but it doesnt seem that much diff from the gts. as all the guys say if u cane it [ as all motor vehicles ] they will sup more juice.

I got my Silverwing a few months ago too, me and old Meldrew went on the first of our Bettys Café Tea Rooms runs today. We decided to get the nearest ones to York out of the way first and there's two in Harrogate so we chose the one at RHS Garden Harlow Carr.
