Re: Considering a maxi
Been out for a test ride on a s/h Piaggio X9 evo 500 and put a deposit down on it !!
Rode really well especially compared with a Burgman 400 that I tried earlier. Felt there was much more room on the X9 and it's also much smoother. Goes like stink, saw 160kph on the test ride on a private road. Brown key was there but I didn't try it. Centre stand doesn't work properly, just trys to go down but doesn't get there! and the radio doesn't work.
Got a colour coded top box and back rest. Repair bill with it for £1000 worth of work to the flywheel (that's the only word I can remember from the bill as I'm not going to collect it 'till next week) and other bits with 10 hours labour. Seemed like it had a new belt at 13000 but no evidence of any more belts up to now (25000) but the shop agreed to fit a new one from Fowlers, and ordered it whilst I was there. This is the bike:-

With the p/ex I can actually afford it
BTW the shop treated me really well, they seem to understand the meaning of customer service

Bloody long 'private road' if you can ride at 160kph or 99mph on it, and I doubt if the owners of that private road would have appreciated you doing it!

Re: Considering a maxi
A runway isn't a private road, it's a strip of land at an airport where aircraft take off and land.stevew wrote:Runway ??Brubaker wrote:Bloody long 'private road' if you can ride at 160kph or 99mph on it, and I doubt if the owners of that private road would have appreciated you doing it!
