I went from mk1 burger 400 to old silverwing model and found it was about 2 ltrs a tank more to do same miles

We shouldn't be too shocked that the Silverwing drinks more fuel than the 400 Burger - the engine is 50% bigger and produces 50% more power after all!
One could argue of course that the bigger engine and more fuel decrease your journey time by at most 0.000001% but thats being rational.......

It takes more speed to get to top ratio on variator as well which is why not best as a commuter .Im back on an old 400 burger and rarely get up to 70 mph on it not in a rush anymore like to pootle along so suits me better .Thats probably in top ratio at 45 /50 mph with standard rollers

I found my Silverwing quite twitchy at the front with the original Bridgestone Hoops until tyre fitter checked the pressure for me while replacing the back tyre. Although the placarded pressure for the front is 29 psi
Bridgestone recommend 36 psi it makes a huge difference to the handling the front is now much more positive. Try it, if you don't like it you can always let some air out. One thing I have noticed about the Silverwing is how steady it is in a crosswind unlike my previous bike a BMW 1100 GS which felt like it was being blown hither and thither especially across the Severn bridge.

Well, tank was filled to the brim tonight , it took 12.25L at £17.13. Meter set to 000

Will report back as to how far I manage before the final digital fuel bar starts to flash. I'm expecting around 145 miles with a steady hand (53 mpg)

I fill my Wing to the brim each time (can be messy!) and I get a consistent 12 miles per litre, mine is a 2011 model with fuel injection.

There aren't any Silverwing scooters that don't have fuel injection.

3.785 is the conversion from miles per litre to good old mpg, so 12 per litre is 45mpg.

12 miles a litre is what I was expecting

No it isn't!!! 1 gallon is 4.546 ltrs and miles are miles so 12 miles per ltr is 54.55mpg
