3X do have a funny approach to prices but then I guess as they are a middleman and not the manufacturer bringing the bikes in, as elsewhere in Europe, they have to make their own profit.

On quality, Pugs from the Citystar up are made in France, mostly with Peugeot's own engines (the exception being the Satelis 300 with Piaggio's 278cc Quasar). My own experience of 5 french-built Pugs has being very good. I guess I have done over 20k on each bike with only one component failure (centre-stand on an Elystar) being outside what you would expect. There did seem to be a dodgy batch of fuel injectors a couple of years ago, but this seems well in the past now.

Saw a Metropolis on the A12 near Bow today. Very nice looking machine. The headlamps give it immense road presence and the overall shape is pretty pleasing. The dash looks smart too. This one was still French registered and in a dark metallic red.

I spoke to the rider, who told me that it was on loan whilst his own scoot was being serviced. Apparently riding it is "interesting" and it's bloody quick. (I can confirm I had to work hard to catch him after he passed me). Can't wait for Peugeot to drop the same lump into the Mk2 Satelis. Then when the inheritance comes through I am going to be spoilt for choice!

The bug face on the Metropolis 3 wheelers looks like people will either love or hate it

The 125 Peugeot LFE engine used in the Citystar and Satelis 2 produces 15hp and has a top speed of 75mph. Peugeot
claim 85mpg but I've seen a few owners report better mpg figures. The Satelis 2 is overpriced, but the Citystar is £600 Cheaper than the S-wing, 2hp more, a little more torque, has a stainless exhaust, decent underseat storage, 13in back wheel and (according to scooter infos) it's got a higher top speed and better MPG than the S-wing. The only thing missing is ABS.

Also not forgetting that we don't get the 20hp 200cc version either.

I did find the Citystar is an attractive proposition if you want / are limited to a 125, assuming the build quality is OK. But for me the lure of more power was (as always) irresistible!
