Well, I kind of like it because it looks so utterly weird!!

However, it will depend on the practical issues - what the weather protection's like, whether its got any luggage space. It might have some luggage space as the 'tank' looks huge.
It does look rather like an modern(ish) interpretation of a cruiser, thus I fear that dynamic issues will play second fiddle to style.

I'm wondering exactly why you'd buy one of these instead of a N750X, or even an Integra, given that they have the same engines & DCT.

This was the bike MCN were whittering on about a while back, though they seem to have been completely wrong in their expectations. I'd hoped for something a bit different.

It is a step in the right direction, just not a very big one.

Now, with a turbo-diesel, shaft drive and 50 litres of storage space in the fairing and vertical handlebars (can't believe designers are still getting that wrong after 100 years) or a hybrid power train based on a 400 twin and electric motor, and a twin front wheel setup for added safety and stability there'd be car drivers commuting on these in the thousands.

But every journey begin with a single step, and all that...

First thing I thought when I saw a pic was: is there a new Judge Dredd film on the way?

Love it. Honda is on a roll. Not only are they trying to redefine what a motorcycle engine should be like (low-end torque) but now they have gone bonkers with the looks. Ok, so I won't be buying one (although...?) but you have to give them full marks for trying to break the decades-old mould of what a motorbike should be like.

Keita Mikura, Project Leader on the model, said: “Honda is a big company. We make every kind of motorcycle. It’s great that sometimes we make a certain machine simply because we can and because we want to, not because we 'should'.

Yes...more pics on Visordown...but why is now trendy to have pictures of a black bike on a black background????

Actually its growing on me - the absurd forward panniers would appear to give some luggage space and would appear to provide good weather protection. Now I'd need a topbox for the jacket, but does that huge 'tank' have any luggage space? let alone enough room for a helmet?

The CTX which it looks to be based on has the tank in the conventional place and there's only a small glovebox under the cover.
The fairing panniers look to be disappointingly small.

Available in matt black only apparently - thats a dealbreaker in itself.
AND its as wide a Goldwing (really!) so its not one for traffic busting!

15mm narrower, actually. (Moot point, but when you factor the lower stance of the thing, it might just be do-able )

The Burger 650 shouldn't be traffic-busting material, but you could get it into gaps only a centimetre or so wider than the handlebars.
