Dude maxi scooters were not designed for trips like that on nasty fast motorways. If I go from london to leeds I do it by train or in a mercedes e class and even in the mercedes it is a chore. Would not fancy it on a scooter. More of an endurance trip than something you will enjoy!

+1 Even the Xevo with less than half the power of the gp800 is fine on the motorway with me and the wife on fully loaded and I'm 18 stone. I don't hang about either.

Most Maxi scoots are perfect for the motorway and long journeys; with tons of weather protection and storage and lots of room to move your legs about on most models. Plus the bigger ones are fairly lardy looking so more visible and with no panniers filtering on those big motorway jams is easy.

Perhaps you lack the confidence for that kind of travelling but it doesn't make it unsafe or unpleasant for everyone. Two wheels all the way for me 99.9% of the time, no matter what the distance.

I think the A1 from Leeds to London is mostly dual carriageway , so don't try to do it to fast have plenty brakes and you should be fine . If you can stay overnight that would be your best option
have a good trip and stay safe .

Dude, maxi scooters are not made for pottering about town doing the shopping. They are built to crunch miles. myself and Gerard C toured Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg in July and we are off to Venice on the 1st October. Ask Meldrew if scoots are capable of long distance riding
