Honda S-Wing with unsteady idle

Replaced the plug with an iridium one but it didnt help at all. Worryingly the old plug was very oily round the base?!?

if its oil from outside of engine it could be the cylinder head valve cover gasket area, visual check to confirm, if its internal

Clean on the outside...maybe this is whats resulting in the fluttering idle? Figured i would I least change the oil but couldn't get the bolt off and ended up rounding it slightly now (used a decent quality socket), last oil change was at Dobles Honda for warranty work on the oil/water seal. So angry at myself for giving Honda a second chance (had a dodgy PCX) over buying a Joymax.

That oil is in a strange place. It's to the inside of the sealing washer and yet the tip of the plug is dry.
Did you put some grease on the plug threads last time you changed the plug? some people do.
That would explain it in that position.

ok , i know this thread is from a motorbike, and they have more valve seals yet your plug is very similar.... so either it could be your valve seals or your piston ring thats letting the oil through.. sorry

Any good finance deals from SYM for the summer?

Typically Sym don't do decent finance deals, any time I've looked the APR has been pretty steep.
Just get a low rate credit card, buy the scooter with that and pay it off (but do not make any other purchases with it)

Currently there are a few 20-23 month 0% cards available.

Have you tried a new suppressor cap, the Deauvilles suffered from a poor batch of NGK caps, the Beverly also has this problem because of the NGK shielded type cap.

back to the slump Idle, or stalling at lights.

I had this problem for a long time. Local garage in Preston where I put my bike didn't have a clue.
Then I dismounted all the underseat plastics and the middle, cleaned out every I mean every single connector that I could find including relays back right with wd40, and afterwards with halfords contacts cleaner.
I noticed some rust here-there at the cables, wires, i brushed them out. I cleaned also every negative contact that i could see on the motor block and on the frame as well.

Mounted everything back again and my honda runs like new! No more studering, or stalling. MPG went down as well.

I guess it is the ECU connector, that i've read about on some honda pcx forum.

I've changed the variator for Malossi MHR 2000 multivar with 13g rollers and white clutch spring.
my max is now about 120kmh at 9000rpm.
