They have a big following and lots of customising but if your going down "that" route then I recommend the 2003 onward Suzuki RV125 Van Van. Loads of potential huge following and dead easy to service yourself.

Suzuki have just introduced the RV 200 here to get rid of surplus stock before 2017 but it has no rear rack and extra cost for 3bhp not worth it.

I also understand the msx/grom stock tyres are lethal so the first get shot job.

Mr Fish (from here) and Royal Jordanian ride groms so plenty of YouTube viewing to waste away a winters evening

I have lower back pain so you will find that the best option i have is to use an aftermarket seat cushion its more comfy for your bum and raises you as well

Had one, ran the uk msx facebook page for a while and was responsible for Tyga bringing in tuning parts, proper laugh but slow in a headwind, fork oil needs thicker stuff in and new tyres are a must as the originals are shit. If you look on the facebook groups for msx or honda grom you can gauge for yourself if its for you, i sold mine as had built a custom monkeybike but wished i kept the msx instead as plenty of tuning parts available for more poke and looks if thats your bag, check youtube for 1000s of videos also. Very good build quality for this little cult bike, think horobags has one or had one on here also and someone else who posted regular videos on his.

yep I had a grom and a van van, the grom is by far the better machine IMO, changing the tyres like Dezzie says is a must unless you never want to ride wet roads.

I must confess I am not into modding except maybe the exhaust for a bit more presence. Prices even secondhand seem remarkable.

I just like the idea of a micro scooter as it's just more involving for me to swing through the gears etc
