Super unleaded 95(branded) in the car - (in my case, my much-less-used brand new car, which sits in the garage
most of the week) Super unleaded 98 (branded) in supercars.
I have used the good old super plus stuff in many motorcycles and my srv 850 ,IMHO they have all run better ,smoother and a more crisp throttle response . I still run a tank ful every so often and have found that the BP stuff works best .
I've got a BP station near me, and I used to use their premium stuff on maybe one out of every three or four fill ups, but TBH I haven't noticed any difference in either the TMax or CBF, or for that matter any of the other bikes I've had, so I've finally stopped using it. I just hope my engine doesn't clog up with limescale or whatever...
hi
its all about water in the cheaper stuff , thats why the price difference , ok for cars better to use the upper end for bikes thats it more ooommpphh its higher spec after all bit of a no brainer and doesnt screw up a smaller injection unit
5th Gear did a test back in the heady days of 90p a litre! Basically unless you have a high performance engine, you're wasting money.
There's another vid where Jason Plato puts bhp back into an old engine, and the most cost-effective mod was to give the car a fiver's worth of Redex and wait a week till it works. A clean engine's more efficient shock! Next best improvemment was oil and filter change.
I wake up every morning with a smile upon my face,
My natural exuberance spills out all over the place!
The way I look at it, and going by info from the internet etc, unless you happen to have anything mega-powerful (whether on 2 wheels or 4) using super is pointless and a waste of money.
If you want to keep your engine internals clean use Redex or similar occasionally as I do.
supermarkets can keeps there prices low because they hope to make a profit on your shopping,
hoping you will use them all the time for everything,
as for additives i thought they all had to be the same standard as they all come out the same fuel bunker,
next you will be British gas runs better than electric gas all comes from the same place just like petrol.
the only problem might local if tanks have a leak and got water in or contaminated at bunker side
