Now maybe I can go touring without having to be recovered home by Britannia Rescue all the time.
Oh that brings back memories.....my Atlantic 500 certainly enabled me to forge close relationships with garage mechanics and AA patrol men! Mine really didn't like rain...
Not sure if I found it comfortable or not after all these years - I was relatively inexperienced in scoots when I bought it. I came to realise afterwards that it was utter pig to ride with all the handling abilities of a reluctant hippo!

I rode my Atlantic to Blackpool, it was great on the motorway.

It did of course break down a few miles outside Blackpool on the way back, & the ride in the recovery van was lovely. Engine bearings problem due to the factory fitted thermostat being wrong, meant a new engine after that trip, unusual as it was usually the electrics that broke (italian electrical cable being made of spaghetti dissolves in water).

Oh goodness..the electrics! Apart from when rain got in, they usually did odd things but were either not fatal or temporary. The oddest was when I switched on and the needles on all the gauges did a complete circuit of their dials!! Very odd. You can see why I switched to Tmaxs.....though my mk4 went through a series of problems last year that started getting me reacquainted with the local AA patrol men!

Hi just a quick note as I got the shock absorbers on the silverwing.

RZ362-420TR 01 YSS

This is the winding preload and adjustable damping model I was talking about.

But they are absolutely terrible. Although lovely quality.

Handling is OK, but they are rock hard and seem to offer nothing in terms of actual shock absorbtion at all.

Its simply bang bang bang etc.

The firming up thing twist dial works like magic only even on 1 out of 60 its rock hard, go up at all its teeth shakingly bad.

They seem to use the same spring on the std shock about £150, but I would say its the actual spring that is wrong, although progressive it just sort of deprersses slightly and feels like it sort of locks in possition if you will.

I get the feeling they have just got a set of silverwing shocks and copied the fittings etc and put a shock package together but not actually ridden with them. Well they can`t of done as beyond dire.

Anyone tried any other shocks on the silverwing etc. But at present I would not recomend YSS ones until properly developed.

I`m the fist to admit the std ones are nothing to write home about but putting them back on felt like a real upgrade !!!! by comparison.

Best Mark.

If I recall correctly, a number of the Silverwing600 chaps used Hagons.

Hi don`t get me wrong, the handling is superb, felt like a T max !!!! almost round the corners etc.

But our roads are grim and I bought them on the premise of purely upping the comfort and was assured they would be a drastic upgrade on the comfort front.

Talking too them tomorrow, the supplier that is as they asked me to call via email today but got it too late.

I am thinking of putting a gel pad you can cut to shape in the seat, anyone tried that ?

Best Mark.

PS how do the hagons compare comfort wise ? please the suppliers I got these from felt they are not as good !!!.

I've never had an issue with Hagon but then being local I can pop in and chat about my needs.

The adjustment couldn't be done on the RV125 though unless you removed the shock due to lack.of space to get c spanner in

Their wheel building service was awesome.
