Hi John,
The brackets definitely didn't make a 1" difference on my Forza - the YSS shocks at 1" less sounds like the way to go for anyone short in the leg - did you alter the front end at all and was there any difference in the angle of the bike when using the side stand?

A question - I've seen YSS shockers advertised for the ADV, but since the ADV comes with (supposedly) high quality Showa equipment as standard, what would you gain by fitting the YSS ones?

If the Showas are the same quality, then the improvement would only be the 1" height reduction that Johnakay was wanting.

I think l have to change allegiance to another make other than Honda.
The Yamaha xmax-300 weighs in at 183kg, but has a seat height of 795mm nominal.
However, there appears to be an official lowered seat available that brings the height down to 755mm, the same as my Burgman.
A lot less trouble than changing shocks, moving forks or adding brackets.
All the input you guys have given me has helped enormously, so l hope that the x-max 300 has a good reputation.

yes that's all I wanted.
I only keep my bikes for 3 - 4 years then I sell.
I'll be putting the old(new) chocks back on.I've only done about 1000 miles if that. still looks new.
then again I might just sell the original chock.
its a twat to fit .panels have to come off which I didn't do.
I manage to wedge the plastic out enough for me to get the spanner in.
I did think of drilling out a hole to fit a socket in put a grommet in the hole.
but this might cause concern or devalue the scooter.
I'm considering in getting the 400 Burgman next.
the servicing cost with my local Suzuki dealer is far cheaper than vertu Honda who wants £250 plus depend on what is needed.
when that time comes I sell my bike also and just have one scooter.

Well, the Xmax is out of the equation.
For a bike with a retail value of £6500, and the same insurance group as my Burgman, l have been quoted £900 annual insurance.
And that is only if l fit an approved tracker.
Ridiculous!
Cheaper to get fitter and stick with my Burgman.
How do they justify the premiums?
I have been told that most bikes are insured through one broker, goes by the name of Adrian. Is this a monopoly in force?

Took the ADV350 out with wifey on the back for the first time

Definitely rides and handles a lot better than the Forza, wider bars are great, especially with a passenger, and the mirrors are actually useful, just going to miss big screen when winter comes

What a superb little bike icon_thumbs_up.gif
