It has to be said that Jimo & Mrs. Jimo have great skill at model making, I would like tone thank them both for inviting me into their home to have a look at some of their work. Jimo's RAF flying boat tender is a thing to behold (sadly no picture) Mrs.Jimo's N guage Harry Potter railway is a 'work of art' in it's own right (will add picture when the lapps is sorted) The only question in my mind ....... will the live steam track be up & running by our next visit ?

Look forward to the picture of the Flying Boat tender, as I don't know what that is.
Sorry that I did not go on the day, I did some servicing on the Silverwing, so did not want a breakdown if the predicted bad weather got worse. As it turned out, it was not as bad as forecast.
it would have been good to meet 'The Bern', who has been active on the Silverwing site and helps us out. Thanks.
Dave

Dave, This is the Fire Tender, a 1" to 1' scale (48" model), two originally built by Vosper marine at Southampton for MOD to be used as safety/rescue tenders for the RAF's Sunderland flying boats based at Calshot Water in the final days of the flying boat era. The model is equipped with working lighting, fire monitors throw water jets of 1 metre, emergency scrambling nets, hoist derek, casualty boarding ladder, suction hoses (aft), sick bay complete with bunks, blankets, pillows, table & First Aid cabinet. The craft is radio controlled through 4 channels on 2.4 mhz frequency and powered by twin johnson 940 electric motors, the craft was built over 14 months at a cost approaching £1500.
