Yes, one of the major improvements by Honda, a good plus selling point.
Hmmm. 8000mile service. ABS. 24.5hp. All for £4499?
Definitely attractive. May have a look at the Honda website and work out what colour I like best....

8000 mile service - Yes, but don't forget the column marked 'Annual Check' which is an annual service by another name!!!
Just had this stupidity with my TMax - the mk4 has gained an annual check in the service schedule. To ensure there are no hassles with the warranty, I put mine in last week (it'd done 4000 miles). However, despite the inspection schedule saying that this didn't involve an oil change, the dealer changed the oil and the filter. I only had the oil changed myself a few hundred miles previously (so that was £30 literally down the drain), and the schedule says the filter doesn't need replacing until 12000 miles! And of course, I'm now only 2000 miles away from the proper 6000 mile service when they'll presumably want to change it all and repeat most of the checks done in the annual inspection again! So I'm not doing any more annual inspections....
Anyway, back to the Forza. I must admit I am warming to it as well. I was very hostile when it was first announced, probably as we were expecting a £5500 price tag and I was expecting it to be competing with the X10-350, Maj & Burger 400s etc. But its clearly a smaller scooter which competes quite well in the smaller 250-300 class - assuming that historic Honda build quality comes included at that price! My current plan is hang to to the Baby Burger for a little longer until either a) it goes seriously wrong again or b) Forzas start to enter the secondhand market - whichever comes first!!!! Unless I get prematurely retired from my Public Sector job of course..........

My annual check would be at around 12,000 miles, so that won't catch me out!
BTW. The colour choice is a bit dull.

Colour choices always seem to be deadly dull and boring these days, both on bikes and cars. Everything now seems to have a choice of white, light grey, medium grey, dark grey, or two shades of black. I remember the 70s when even staid cars came in shocking colours like yellow and purple!
As for the Forza, T&G said that they looked good in white, with the paint having a very deep look (whatever that means). Presumably the opposite of the BMW C600 which looked to have barely the slightest coating of paint on the panels....

No need, you've covered it all very thoroughly

Screw and locknuts would be my preference, but as long as the clearances remain OK, shims are fine

For me, at 16,000 miles its only going to need looking at every two years or so.
I think that's possibly shorter than need be, the X10 and Majesty 400 check interval is 24,000 miles.

A valve check on the Forza should be really quick and easy I would think. After which, if adjustment is needed you can easily work out the size of the shims needed and pick them up from your dealer. Next get the spanners out and do the deed. It's easy once you've done them the first time. But reading the workshop manual is a must first. Takes about 1.5 hours on a 2007+ Burgman from start to finish without a tea break. But adjustment is not often needed on bucket and shims as mentioned earlier. If it's under warranty at the time let the dealer do it.

Personally all I would ever do with shims is check the clearance and if it needs doing it goes to the scooter vet.
I can do it, but I don't enjoy it and life's too short to do stuff you don't enjoy.

Well after reading bornagainbikers post about there being one in Newcastle I decided to have a ride over today, I must say it looks nice in the flesh so to speak but having cocked my leg over & sitting on the forza it was too low and cramped for me, mind you I'm six-two & a bit, even the sale fella commented it looked a bit tight on the knees, at which point i was telling him about the existing forzas over in Spain & Europe ..and it having an auto gearbox instead of cvt, this was news to him

..

one criticism of the forza would be they've got the brake levers from the spare parts bucket, they're massive & self alloy colour against the black of the reservoir & chrome bars.
There were a couple of nc700's & an integra...I likee

The Forza isn't for me.
I ride feet forward and if things get too interesting I like to lock my legs against the bum stop and it won't let me do that. Not wild about the "sport" styling and dubious about the build after seeing how its Thai stable mates age.
Look forward to seeing them about though.

Yeah I've seen comments in mags that they aren't designed for tall people. Tillstons in Stockton have one in, and they do look quite small. Maybe designed by Thai designers for the average Thai person!
Integra? Hmmm - they look quite nice but a scooter you can't step through, that has no luggage space and has chain drive still doesn't make any sense to me!
