for the record liam dear ive owned a sym 125 on a 02 plate from new and use it on a daily basis

clive i havent said its the fastest on the uk roads

so ive miss read it ... i get it now its ok to own a bike/scooter that will only break the speed limit and let you keep your licence got it now

to call or imply people are nobs just because they have a different idea on what they want out of a motor bike is wrong on any level

and actually makes you wonder just who the knob is [live n let live ]

as for no nob factor in riding a scooter you are way of mark

you have to be a uber nob to own one in the first place

my last tip is stop reading mcn [ the clue is the name MOTOR CYCLE NEWS not scootering or twist n go] its aimed at sports bike riders
and you all might not get so upset

good point made clive, although I do admire the zzr1400, and would love one in me garage, in the real world for me, (without a lotto win), its not practical, too expensive, to buy and run, and far to much power to use on uk roads. I had a ride on a friends busa last year, if it was mine I would be banned within a couple of months. This is why we all buy machines to suit our own personal needs, and lets face it, no one really needs a zzr 1400, still nice to drool over though icon_drooling.gif :D

Upset me! noooo! :D

MCN! :o .....must be 5 or 6 years since i looked at one.,,,,they had no clue about scoots years ago!

Nob value with owning a scoot, yep ive been called a nob (old biker mates) for having one! maybe they are right!

Once again.. good luck to the guy who buys a Kwak, if its what they want, then go for it.

All i say is, in my opinion 190 mph is over kill for our roads.

I did not say (bikers) where nobs.......i said it was for nob value.

And, no i dont agree about having a scoot bike that will not break the 70mph speed limit,
For a scoot/bike to be able to cruise at the 70 mph (120kph on the continent) for hours on end it will need to have a top speed of around the 90+mph or above.
and yes i do break the speed limits sometimes, as i think everyone does on most motorways...just to keep up with the flow of traffic.

Dear ?? Very patronising !
Want me to rip your reply some more??

So you ride a 125 everyday? Get rid of the xevo, current ride, next to your name then.

Where has Clive called or implied that anyone is a knob?
We both mentioned knob value,,, theres a difference.

Then the bit where you say....Wonder who the nob is ??
Another uncalled for remark?

Have to be an Uber nob to own one ??
Maybe you're an uber nob, I'm not.

honda c50, piaggio 125, MZ, zundap bella, xevo, t-max, zzr, wer'e all on 2 wheels and thats what counts, I think Liam started this thread, by throwing in a subject for disscusion, which really what this website is about, !I hope everyone sees it this way.If they dont , they should.

Ok so things learned so far: ZZR1400 is fast 186mph, same as about 8 other top bikes...They are limited to that speed by Euro rulzz.
Scooters are slower, some.....much slower ;)
(K)nobs arnt on bikes/scoots much, they are used to change gears in cars.

Can this topic be closed now ? as some peeps seem to have missed to OP topic :)

Dear ?? Very patronising !
Want me to rip your reply some more??..........

are you 12?

then your first reply was;.....
I'm presuming thats a dig cos Clive rides a Tmax.

well you pressume far to much i would never have a personal dig at clive because i have no idea who he is

i was pointing out it is a bit hypocritical to slag a fast bike
when we all ride machines that are more than capable of shattering the speed limit in this country
and no you cant justify it by saying i can break it by 30 mph but because your bike is faster than mine its a pointless machine

change my ride ? what to?
the sym i ride everyday except xmas to do deliverys for business
the x8 i ride for pleasure along with several others should i change it on a daily basis?

the fact is as horobags said nobody needs a zzr 1400
the fact is noone needs a tmax/x8/silverwing
we buy them because we like them
same as sports bike riders
same as harley riders or adventure bike riders who will never venture futher than tescos
you pays your money you takes your choice

and horobags i agree this is what this web site is about .. well what this site used to be about unfortunatley there are to many people jumping in with their size 12s and pressuming far to much
