There again, for BMWistas, £9500 for the basic model might look a bargain compared to £12600 for a R1200RT - and that hasn't got heated grips either! And the RT options list is long and incredibly expensive.
Conversely, there is a F800ST Touring - with ABS, heated grips and diddy paniers - at £8700, and you start wondering why a C650GT costs between £1k and £2k more......

I bought Yamaha heated grips for my Mk3 T-Max they cost a couple of copers short of 300notes...never again.

Well, that's me out then!

No way am I spending 10k on a badge, and at that price, it's doubtful that you will see any on the used market in the next 5 years.

They do realise that there is a recession don't they?!!....utter madness, and at that price it will surely be the preserve of the BMW set, and not the regular consumer who ways up value for money, with sensibility.

I paid 6 grand for my Burger brand new, and that was because it was a bargain, unlike the 8 grand for the new model at the time, and picked up a brand new Gilera Fuoco for 4 grand. So, effectively i bought a brand new Burgman 650, and a brand new Fuoco for less than the fully loaded BMW. Admittedly i got them both for unusually great deals, but even so, i would refuse to pay that much for a scooter, no matter how good it is.

It means; would the majority of those baulking at the RRP of the BMW pay RRP for any of the other expensive maxiscooters - Burgman 650, Tmax, Silverwing, etc.?
Probably not.

For me to buy one of these scooters I'd need to win the lottery.

I've never spent £10k on a car. The most I have paid for a scoot was £1250 for a B125 and car wise £4995 for a Megane back in 2006. (I do have a company car now, but that might go, can't see my budget being more than maybe 6k)
