Im in the same boat. I have a Honda PCX125, bought it 1.5 years ago, and it does exactly what it has to do, which is take me 44km each day to work and back. It travels easy at 80km/h, which is the speed limit on the road that I ride to work on. I could ride on the Highway, which is 100km/h road, but I prefer the quieter side road that I use, and I get to work pretty much same time, whether I use the highway or the slower side road ( as the slower side road is a more direct route)

I nearly bought a Tmax in 2001, then nearly bought one in 2010 (but bought the PCX instead) , now the new Tmax 530 is coming to Australia later this year. Im trying to tell myself that the Tmax is a luxury that I just dont need. Some days I'm determined to save up and get the Tmax 530 when it arrives here, then other days I convince myself that the PCX is all I need for what I use it for. I dont really ride much, other than just commuting. PCX being perfect for the job.

And now locally there is a 2009 model Majesty 400, with just 83km on its clock, that is going for 2/3 of the cost of a new one. But then I think if I bought the Maj 400, I would wish I'd just paid extra for a Tmax, as Ive read a number of times that once you ride a Tmax, you know what all the fuss is about.

I wish my wallet was as big as my ideas.

Why not keep it, it suits your needs and did look a nice bike that only needs a thermostat.

I know the feeling of bikes that breakdown on the way home from buying it. Myself and the X9 now get on quite well!

I recently bought an Austin A30, which the engine let go on after just 30 miles!!!! Doesnt mean that all A series engines are bad and instead of moaning about it, I spent £400 on the parts and rebuilt it myself.... now just fix your B500 and youve got the scooter you need, the Master engine isnt unreliable at all.

Not sure i can keep the B500. it would suit my needs engine wise but if im honest ive fallen out love with its looks and its got this really bloody annoying beeping with the indicator. totally embarrising. not sure you can stop it with out also killing the horn

My 2 penarth for what it’s worth, you say you would like a tmax but keep saying no for what you call practical reasons and then you justify long and hard for reasons not to get one.
Now factor in the fun element of a tmax. Yes they are a little more thirsty but the fun element!
I go to work on my tmax, its about 9 miles on A and B roads, sometimes the flow is about 65mph [on a very good day] following boring tin tops, but twist that throttle, pass 3 tin tops at a time, throw it into the next bend like a motorcycle, it is just so much fun, yes a little more in petrol but so much fun.
Empty road and keep the throttle under half, still quick off the mark and still hit 75mph – still got half a throttle left to play with, did I mention the fun element.
Catch the motorcycle up in front and then pass it on a bend, did I mention – so much fun.
Justify this, life is for living, so if a few extra pounds a week is the difference between going to work on your scoot or having FUN going to work on you scoot, then just do it.

Well, you are completely right....however, in my case if I ride the Tmax to work rather than the Baby Burger, it turns into something like those videos of maniac sportsbikers traffic busting at 100mph!!!

Go buy a tmax, you know you want too.
You can always sell it later if it is not what you want, but at least it will stop you wondering and tying you brain in knots.
As MrGrumpy says 100mph, no worries, not that you would do that but it make overtaking easy, you do not have to plan the move as you do ond a smaller cc scoot, as they say just twist & go.
