I'm not after ultimate performance to be honest. I'd be happy with faster acceleration up to 70 miles and losing top speed.
Yes...I put the Malossi variator on (£300 fitted), and it feels like a different bike round town. Makes no odds at open road speeds, but it is brilliant at overtaking speeds.
Is it the Multivar 2000?

Yes...with medium weights, and leaving the overall ratio alone.

The variator on it's own is a waste of £300, and this is coming from someone that spent over £1200 on a 4T runner engine tune, so take it from me spend what ever a set of lighter rollers are and go from there.

As Earl said buy the lighter weights but you can buy a cheaper pipe which will also dump most of the weight off...the tmax is not ment to be a sports bike even if they call it a sports scooter...Yamaha have been watching the tuning firms and thats why they pushed out a 530 model with a rubber band final drive. ....but lets face it unless your stuck in a rut and dont realise that the tmax will never destroy a sports bike ...dont even bother doing anything to them and just leave em standard ....but im sory to upset the old gits out there mine was a carb model with a injection engine and all the bits convereted that i can.....and i bloody love it. i have more people asking me about mine than any of the new ones.maybe its coz i look after it and put the effort into getting what i want...and not loads of money.
