Well my Burger woes are sort of over in one way, and then its bringing new problems to the table.

Whilst on my way up to Newcastle on Monday, me & my cousin were both took off by a patch of diesel just before a roundabout near disforth airfield. She had the lead, and using engine breaking to slow down from 30mph lost her back end. She went down like a sack of spuds taking the full impact on her left shoulder. Me bringing up the rear also slowing down with the throttle and rear brake, tried turning sharply to avoid hitting my cousin. So i lost my front end, i hit the deck at warp speed, and remember rolling down the road a few times with the burgman rolling over the top of me. I felt a lot of pain in my foot, but as soon as i stopped rolling i jumped straight up to check on my cousin.

Because the last thing i saw when rolling was my burgman heading towards my cousin like a missile. It did hit her in the back, but it only knocked the wind out of her. Thankfully she only has some bruises & soft tissue damage in her shoulder.

I had to go to the walk-in centre on Tuesday, only to go to A&E then find out my left foot has 2 fractures in it. and a nasty graze on left elbow (so much for that armour protection)

Textile jacket was pretty much shredded, my burgmans left side was scratched to shite, the console around the key area all came away, screen snapped off, centre stand embedded into the bodywork. My cousins bike was an instant write off. All from about 30-35mph

Now starts all the legal stuff....

Glad youre both alright, Id imagine a Burgman hitting you in the back would be pretty painful.

Thank goodness you are both in one piece, that is the main thing and I hope the pair of you recover without any lasting aches and pains.
I think you know we all hope the legal / insurance process goes well for you both and you will be back on two wheels before too long.

thanks for all the positive comments guys.

I am fully comp through Carole Nash & have the clothing & helmet protection too.

I have been told yesterday that i will be getting the £1850 that i paid for the burgman back. At least thats a blessing, just a shame that i won't get back all the money i've put into repairs & modifications back.
The company that deals with the helmet & clothing, want me to send photos & invoices or receipts.

Now as far as i know Carole Nashs solicitors are going after the council in this case.

We don't really know who's spilt the diesel, but that part of the A168 J49 off A1 on route to Thirsk is a heavily traveled HGV, Coach & military route.

The crash happened on a set of 3 little roundabouts just off the end of Dishforth Airfield and there is another RAF base called Topcliffe just a few more miles up the road

In the hour & a half we waited for the recovery vehicle, i lost count of the lorries, coaches & military trucks that went by

We just have to wait & see what happens

Not sure if you'll get anywhere but my first rule is always refuse the initial offer from Insurance.

I've always managed to get them to increase it by showing adverts for equivalent bike/mileage, as it's what you'll have to pay to replace not what you bought for.

Good luck
