Still no heated grips though??? My Atlantic also allegedly had self cancelling indicators, though in Aprilia's case, it may just be that the electrical circuits fail after around 30 secs.......yellowMax wrote: I am really impressed with the level of kit on mine and what it actually does. It measures, tyre pressure, oil level and on and on. The only thing I thought it might do, which it doesn't appear to do (haven't tested it, but it is not mentioned in the manual) is self cancel the indicators....

....lol. I seem to remember my Atlantic had the same, though I think they were on for what seemed like awhile before switching off.MrGrumpy wrote:yellowMax wrote:

Re: BMW C600 Sport test ride
It's interesting, this talk of self cancelling indicators as I find it really pisses me off when I forget to cancel mine. It doesn't happen very often these days - I'm glad to say, but I always feel like a learner again when it does. Linking it to a sound might work but would probably get annoying after time, especially when stopped at lights.

Did they have the BMW system of two switches, one on either side? This one is different but I should test it to see.... the book doesn't mention it...bornagainbiker wrote:Last year when I test rode the new BMW R1200SE and F800ST they both had self cancelling indicators after 30 seconds, unusual for BMW not to continue the trend?

No, they have one entirely conventional switch- the only oddity being that it has an incredibly small travel to the left and rightyellowMax wrote:Did they have the BMW system of two switches, one on either side? Well, it does indeed have self cancelling indicators. Twenty flashes with no brake and they're off. I took it for a hundred mile jaunt around Kent/Ide Hill yesterday and I LOVED it. Engine sounds great and it handles like a dream. Much tighter turning circle than a TMAX.

20 flashes for the indicators? Sods law says that in that case they'll be turning themselves off when you want them on for a longer period than usual!!!yellowMax wrote:Well, it does indeed have self cancelling indicators. Glad you are enjoying it. Although I wasn't blown away by the BMW, I definitely liked the engine noise.

How much faster does it feel comparing to your previous ride? Also noticed any difference in the weather protection?
