I can see your point. I think this Honda would need to offer something extra or different to the rest to make you want to pay top price. And I don't think it does, especially when some 33bhp scoots aren't that much more.

£4400 is only £500 more than an S-wing 125.
24.5bhp is just peak bhp, hopefully Data will be along in a minute to explain (more eloquently than I can) about why this headline peak figure is almost meaningless.
What this scooter offers over all the others is the Honda badge and in the case of UK Sym and Kymco offerings, ABS.
Pesonally I would have more confidence in a Honda product than one from Sym, Kymco or Piaggio group, but that's probably because I have never owned a Sym, Kymco or Piaggio.

Yeah I'm with you there! I had a PCX now got a SYM GTS, but would be very interested in the new Honda. Always wished there was a bigger PCX when I had mine. Now looks like there is going to be. Will definately be having a look. Having said that I would also like to see the new SYM GTS as well.

gn2, you've put it very eloquently indeed and I can't add anything much. As you've said already, it's only the headline figure. It doesn't tell you how the engine will deliver it's power. It's my guess and knowing Honda, that it will have loads of torque in just the right places and may even out accelerate some or even much of the competition. Even seeing where the peak torque figure is doesn't tell us too much. You need to see the engine power output map showing both graphic lines to get a good idea. For example, it may output very high torque very early on in the rev range well before it's peak output of torque, shoving it down the road much quicker than a much higher bhp engined bike. I'd rather have torque over ps/bhp anyday within reason. Large amounts of bhp are associated more with top speed but that isn't actually always the case. Depends on other factors too. Can't wait to have a proper read of a road test. Errrr....sorry to sound nerdy!

Canada gets a red one, so why not us
