its been a while since ive been home but my first thought were thats debenhams in manchester and the power lines were from the metro link ... but i may be way off like i say its been a while

I just did a Google Street View for Debenhams Manchester and the power lines are the same, so it is Manchester.
The tram power cables and round advertising display made it look so Continental...

Only the lack of street cafes and rain let Manchester down.

I think you are right, the north end of Picadilly Gardens.
