What ever SYM UK want's to do to help promote SYM surely is a good thing! I know that buying a scoot without seeing it is a big issue. But the two dealers in Aberdeen that cover sales for a few of the big names, never seem to have the top end scoots on display, or for testing. Honda dealer has got Forza's and the other dealer has small Kymco's. He has a J300 demonstrator, but never any big Suzuki's. And never seen any Tmax's or Silverwings at the other dealer. One issue is the the British just don't see scooters the way the rest of Europe do! We all know the comments, Don't you wish you had a proper bike!! Like your moped!! Etc. Dealers are not going to stock machines that just don't sale in high volume. Just fill the showrooms of GSXR's, R1's and CBR's Car dealer do the same, get the place filled with the cars that sell!
Sadly Mac is spot on. On an interesting note the week before I picked mine up the dealer dropped it's yamaha franchise. They said the mark up on all their bikes is poor and was very poor on the Tmax so they had no interest in trying to sell them any more. I guess its a funny old business with poor volume sales in this country. Just put my moped / mobility scooter in the garage for the evening
And three dealers who had rather large testicles (compared to other dealers) were persuaded to put a MaxSym 600 into stock...... ALL SOLD WITHIN ONE WEEK!
We will designate one 'Elite' Dealer per county who will be supported to stock the larger models..... Watch this space
