so at 8.3 gms each the polini total roller weight is 99.6 gms and their size is smaller in their width being 11mm each yet their circumference is standard 25mm
the standard tmax rollers are weight each 19 gms and there are 8 of them making 152 gms total, not sure on the weight of the dr pulley weights you had in the standard variator at -10% say you had 17 gms each it still total 136 gms which is way of your polini 99.6 gms thats why its more revvy


the blue spring is stiffer than standard, its behind the rear pulley surface plates where the belt sits inside, so the belt finds it more difficult to sit further down inside the pulley halves. at the opposite other end is the polini variator which because it is slightly light so its struggling to open the rear pulley. so the belt at the rear stays higher longer , so at the variator side, the belt is staying lower, longer giving you high engine revs.
this shows it working, look at the plate movements


you have choices,
if your polini package came with any more rollers say 9.5 gm or 10.5 gm rollers
or

Maybe it's normal, I don't know. I know someone on the Greek maxi forums that has this vario with the 8.3gr weights, maybe he can shed some light into this.

The Dr.Pulley are good to get a little bit more of your scooter, but NEVER will give you more than a Malossi or Polini not even a J.Costa.
I have a Tmax for the last 4 years, and I use to go with a group of TMax in Barcelona. Now I moved to London for work.
The best variator for the TMAX is by far, the JCosta. It gives you the better possible performance that you can get out of a variator. The only thing, is that you have to adapt the weights to your scooter. Is not the same a standard Tmax than a standard Tmax with an exhaust (Akrapovic, Termignioni or any other brand)
It's tehcnology allows you to have the best performance not only in acceleration and top speed, it gives you the smoother throttle and the lack of vibrations. And also in recuperations (especially in road curves)
It's a variator that needs to be mounted very carefully with a torque wrench and without grease. Not every mechanic does it correctly. But if you get it mounted correctly, then you have the best perfomance possible. The old verstion, the EVO2 didn't give the best results, but the EVO3 and specially the EVO4R are a high quality product. I have my variator with 22.000 km and I only have changed the rollers once.
In Spain, where they are based, they are the number one by far. Is a small company, but the product is amazing.
I have the EVO4R, the last model if you want to try it, I will have my Tmax here in london in 3 weeks, So we can go and try it.

The guys over at Scooter Club Hellas say the revs I'm getting are normal. 7250-7500 on full throttle. They said I'll get used to it and I think they are right. I'm already getting used to it.

I even went after a sports bike for a while today. He was surprised I kept up before I turned. I guess it pays not having to change gears in town.

Skutorr brought this up in the Majesty USA forum: "There is a REDESIGN of the Jcosta out there that has had GREAT reviews. It's from AUTISA in Spain, where Jcosta also is. It has a much longer life than the Evo2, etc., and works well without running at redline all the time at full throttle. look at the redesigned weight system. Hundreds of times more contact surface for the weights than the Jcosta."

I'm not sure how this product compares to the EVO3 or 4 models of the J Costa. The Autisa is available on your side of the pond, but not here in the states yet. Maybe you already know about it? Just another option...
