This is a short video I took at the Helix's 25th birthday bash at the HGF Treffen in Marl, Germany back in 2011. All forms of Helix life are represented therein! My '86 Fusion is somewhere in the middle; it was the both the furthest travelled and the oldest CN to make the journey*.
*We'll not mention that it broke down on the way home
Wow ! I sat and smiled all the way through that . Every concievable mod on view from absolute stock (my kinda bike) to chrome overload, bizarre seats and paint jobs, screens, all panels off, side-cars etc. Brilliant ! Thanks Jaz

You know the little stubby exhaust manifold? It broke off, exactly flush with the head so there was no way - even armed with tools and parts as I was - for me to bodge the exhaust to make it the rest of the way from Dartford Tunnel to Yorkshire.
So one needs ‘breakdown assistance’ to get the bike home?
Of course no two breakdowns are the same.....but IF you’d had a piece of copper tube to match the exhaust hole maybe you could have made a bodge repair? ?
Sounds to easy I know.

Ooooh dear , a Royal pain, drilled out and re-tapped im guessing ....
I watched a youtube video of a chap in the US with a Helix with a properly shaped top-box which included a full height passenger back rest a-la Goldwing setup . Was that standard on the later models or is that a kit that is available as an add-on does anyone know?
That was definitely non standard much like the side car, these sort of kits come from the US mainly but prob some from Europe due to the Helix popularity there.

On British Helix Models the pillion back rest was a double height cushion whereas many US models can be seen as having a single lower cushion.
On many previously owned models one or two instrument face buttons can be found missing, on mine too, I’m planning to replace them with ‘tailor made’ buttons carved from a pretty solid black foam substance I have that is ex-battery case material, I have plenty of it...... Originals are NLA.

Bizarre to think that we get the double height cushion and the Americans get the single , I would have automatically assumed that they got the 'comfort version'
Re: instrument buttons, are you are in effect making blanking plates or are you making something that actually works as a button?
