Will an X3 fit the XMAX, and if so what would be the best area to lock?
At the moment l have a Luma Bumper 38 that l have had for years, but am looking to upgrade.
Yamaha supply the Datatool Stealth as a “freebie” if a subscription is taken out. I have signed up for 12 months to try it out.

The dimensions are on their website and I'd be tempted to create a mockup in cardboard to avoid sending stuff back.
Locations which work on the Forza are:
Through the back wheel spokes and one side of a shock mount. Lock body ends up resting on the final drive case. Not the cleanest location, but fills the shackle and very difficult to access with any tool.
Through the front wheel spokes and fork leg so the body is resting on the brake calliper. A bit more open but cleaner.
I think it would go round the front wheel rim but can't see why you would grant such easy access with a grinder or chisel, using the floor as the work bench. They might even get a small bottle jack inside the shackle. Maybe this location does allow you to loop a shorter length of chain through the D though, preventing lifting into a van if street furniture is available?
Google images seems to show use on the forks but I don't know the model well enough to confirm. The lazy quarter wits at MCN of course show the most useless positioning, one step beyond hanging it off the handlebars

Update on the Litelok X3.
Extremely heavy, has that feel of don’t f with me.
Fits through the front disc and wheel spokes with a bit of fiddling.
I have changed the black reflective tape in the ends of the lock bar to bright yellow. Reminds me to take it off and possibly a visual deterrent to potential thieves.
In that position it does give access for a grinder, but l am reassured by their claims that it takes serious time, effort and potential discovery to remove it.
The bike also has a tracker, just in case.

First day with the bike at work: stolen. Two guys saunter along between the delivery drivers and staff and make off with the scoot. I've looked at the CCTV footage and they crank the steering lock, one helps push the bike up the road whereupon it magically starts (er, how!?). The one pushing mine leaps on and disappears, the other follows close behind on his scoot. Total time maybe 10 seconds.
Sounds similar to when my Maxsym 600i was stolen in 2019. It was a weekend night so nobody was about. Except that they smashed the (cheap) U-lock with a hammer then a team of 3 on a bike and a scoot made off with it by one on the left with his right foot on the floor of mine and one on the right with his left foot on the floor on the other side. They didn't start it. It was all on CCTV, but the police couldn't do anything because all 3 were wearing full-face helmets and the bike and scoot they were using were both stolen. It did teach me one lesson - don't use a cheap lock.

Did they force the seat open or the panel near the front storage compartment.
Find the ODB plug, pop this on
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/397675644579 ... BM7vaog9xn
You can then start it with a screwdriver. Cheaper on TEMU, under a fiver, but no next day delivery
I'd extract the pins from the OBD and heat shrink over them. Any problems and it will take an extra 15 minutes to connect your dongle, but better that and make the scrotes push it. One of the pins is a switched feed.
Yamaha should be in court for such a feeble system.
