just noticed the bike is currently on 24722 miles, and according to the notes in the service details, the belt change comes up at 24800ish. Which means after this week's commute, i may have a belt change light on. Would it be safe to ride a little while longer till monday?? I'm undecided...

I've seen a Tmax belt at 12000 miles, it was unworn,so the dealer reused it on another bike. The belt last a long, long time. The most important thing is to keep the belt cover filter clean, as this helps it to run cool. It will be fine.

woozy - no, i didn't use the bike at all today. Must have been someone else.
Dave - i'll get the filters changed together with the belt, but i believe you're talking about a mid-term maintenance of taking them out and cleaning up, rather than getting them changed on each belt change, which is not something i've done. Do you recommend a periodic cleaning of filters in between belt changes, or is simply changing the filters together a good enough preventive maintenance?

Belt filters are cheap enough...they are available on Flea Bay for £17 for the pair.

i guess that means you do recommend filter changes in between belt changes then

I'll keep that in mind for the next period

Do the belt after, I went on a ride last year having changed rollers which means taking the belt off, and shredded the belt on the M25 at 'normal for most people' speed and never made it to the ride out.
