lloydpb wrote:Did you take the front panel off to wire it in? If so how did you do it - I am trying to get mine off now to get to the back of the electrical socket but it wont move. Obviously I have taken the hadlebar covers off and removed the 8 screws but it wont budge and I am afraid of breaking something,
Thanks
Lloyd.

If you are talking about the panel belowe the handle bars! once all srews are out, sit on the seat and pull it straight towards your self, take care if it's the EXEC model as the
heated seat switch is on it. It has a couple of those crapy plastic clips like the tunnel cover to overcome :D

picking up a burgman 400 tomorrow. I have tomtom on iphone & a Biologic waterproof bike case for it. trouble from the small photos on autotrader, i cant tell if there is anywhere to mount it. unlike a normal motorbike handle bars. Am i going to have a problem with this, or do i need to buy one of those suction cup type holders to attach to the screen from halfords?

Main problem is the daft 12v supply on the burgman. It is jammed up against the glove box door so you need one of those short 12v plugs with a usb socket and a route out for the wire (door seals all the way round).

For the mount there are a lot of options, have a search on here and on BurgmanUSA
Ram mounts, holes in the bar shrouding, screw a holder to the plastic and (on the 400) a bracket from where the mirror stem screws into the bars.
I would not trust a suction cup on my bike without a very secure anchor strap, I don't think there is anywhere flat enough either.

I just stick mine in my pocket and listen through my helmet speakers

I know quite a few who use a RAM mount on their brake reservoir, reasonable option.

I have my GPS on a custom-made mount between the bars on my Silverwing but for a test - someone wanted to know whether there'd be too much vibration - I went for a ride with it on the RAM mount I have on the brake reservoir.
Although it was a bit closeer than when on the other mount so I wasn't used to it it proved very satisfactory.
I bought the reservoir cover from MotorcycleLarry.

The Tomtom rider gadget comes with a mirror mount that looks OK for Burg 400. Has anyone tried this? and is it of any use?

Perhaps not then. I have sorted this now with a reservoir cover RAM fitting. Simple and cheap.
