Pearl Moonstone my arse!! Must remember that when I wear my pearl moonstone (grey) shirts.
There were no non-ABS Burgs available for 2012 at my local showroom. In fact, they did tell me that as of 2012 only ABS versions were being shipped for UK sales.
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then they beat you with their experience.
Photos taken three weeks ago. Here is the proof that the standard model still exists in 2012 and in the new colour at £5600 otr.
I did mention it in another thread as I noticed that the 400 decal is no longer applied to the bike. http://www.maxi-muppets.co.uk/forum/vie ... 49&t=11187
Yes I mentioned this Geoff as I was also confused, it's still on the website though http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/bikes/index. ... on_scooter.
If you had 'old' stock then the colours would be as shown Burgandy, White or Black and not the new 2012 YEZ colour? Suzuki for what ever reason, have obviously taken a concious decision to spray the remaining non ABS stock in the new colour scheme?
As I mentioned earlier I spoke to Suzuki a couple of weeks ago and they told me that a "New" 650 was on the way but they had no no knowledge of the 400 at this time. Yeah right, they must have a few 400's still kicking about then.
Hmmm. Could just be running down the standard model ready for the ABS regulations - but I'm intrigued with the idea of a new 400. The ZA was still a limited edition when I got mine but I don't suppose rarity will put anything on the trade in price for a new model.
I would probably get lynched when I got home anyway though.
WE ARE THE BURG resistance is futile
The Ugly Bunch-1
I've now been on my first runs without rain. Yesterday I ventured from Devon to London and back. Parked in Marylebone for free and no congestion charge. As you can imagine it was chaos on the main roads due to the Olympic lanes fiasco. I just scooted by and left them to it. It was a fraction warm on the way back but who's to complain after the shite of last weeks weather.
Today I had a run to Bournemouth and back via Dorchester. Way too pleasant - I'll be doing that journey a lot. The A37 Dorchester to Yeovil was brilliant. Fast and easy to manage. Loved it.
I have added 560 miles in just 2 days, but hey I would have had to do it anyway in the car. Now done 2060 miles in 6 weeks and it just gets better.

That's the thing about the 400, it just gets better and better as the miles go on. Mine is even more powerful now too. When I take a big handful of throttle and roll it on, it just leaps forward and is really quick accelerating between 45mph to 75mph. It seems like you are doing lots of miles now. The 400 Burgman thrives on doing lots of miles. When I picked my 400 up from it's first service there was another guy picking his new one up too. He tells me his is a company bike and he does 18,000 miles a year on it. His company change it every two years for financial reasons, not because it's wearing out or anything like that. So when he trades it in the bike has 36,000...ish miles on the clock or sometimes more in just two years. He said this new one was his 4th 400 Burgman and he has never ever had one bit of trouble with any of them. He just rides it with the throttle wide open and uses it in all weathers. He showed me the one he had traded in. It looked like new. So I think thats why people buy the Burgman (I did) because of it's enviable reputation for reliability and durability. It doesn't look so bad either! Glad you are getting on ok with yours and that you like it.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Yesterday I did Devon-Portsmouth and back. Very pleasant in the sunshine and nothing to report.
Today I went from Devon to St Albans and back. Very pleasant trip. Sunny and dry for the most part. It was my first trip on the M25 - no problem at all, easy even. After finishing my work at Brasserie Blanc I left site and was immediately lost. My satnav became unresponsive and left me on the road to Dunstable. Anyway, I did find the M1 and followed it down to the M25.
I picked up the M3 and the wind became really strong, and that's the focus of my post. The scoot behaved impeccably though the wind was staggeringly strong. I did get blown about a bit bit it was quite an adventure and was to be enjoyed. I loved it.
Note that I had my first moment today. Some twat in a Polo tried to do me on a roundabout near home by not stopping his entry and side swiping me as I was exiting.Bastard.
This small engined scoot really can match the big bikes in the distance stakes and those that are in the know are the benificiaries of this knowledge. It is a classic of design and function.
I am already thinking of the move to a 650 for the extra power and speed and may have to lose a shedload to do it.
Mileage now 2,920.

On the move to the 650. Maybe wait until you see the new model that is reportedly coming out next year. They may have solved the very expensive transmission failures that the 650 can suffer from. I personally know someone who has had the transmission fail at 42k miles. Total cost to fix was in excess of £3,000! He actually sold the bike to the dealer in it's failed state for next to nothing and bought a new 400z abs. We had a meet a few weeks ago and he says he is very happy with it having had it for 4 months and 3k miles at that time.
