Great looking Scoot with a good reputation - as long as it's been looked after!

Over here they're around £3000 with 5000 miles. ;)

Picture 5 shows 16687 on the dash and the Speedo has BIG KPH so I'll wager it's done around 10369 miles.

Seems ideal to me!

£4000 new so would be a good saving, definitely worth the look :D

The price is fair.
Confirm it actually has ABS, the front wheel has a reluctor ring but its only for the speedo.
I don't think the ABS one was available in 2011.
If it is a genuine ABS and you can get the price down a bit you will have a bargain on your hands.

Yes, mileage is 17,000kms so just over 10,000 miles. £3000 plus say £200 to travel to/from UK and registration tax of £300 for 2/3 yr old 300i with 5,000 miles does seem expense in comparison.

Lack of a top box not a major issue for the moment as it seems to have quite good underseat storage. Something I could add later.
It seems to say 'ABS' on the left hand side of the front wheel mudguard. However, I will enquire further, perhaps it was available as an option rather than standard or fitted at a later date.

Anything I should look out for specifically should I view? Is there a buyers guide with such tips on this forum?

ABS is possible as the Downtown did get it in 2011, just not for the UK.

By the way, I've never heard if any X9 with 29hp. The quasar engine only ever gave 21hp at best.

I had 3 Peugeot Satelis 250 executive, with the same basic mechanicals as the X9. Ran them all way past 20k miles with no bother at all. ABS and a special ABUS security chain arrangement included.

Just remember there is no way to put your feet forward on the downtown/j300.

Of course there is, I've done it a few times already. :roll:

1. As you are riding, make sure you are centre of the lane on your side of the road and the bike is straight and level.
2. Keep a steady speed unless you are rolling downhill with the throttle closed, in which case a little acceleration is acceptable.
3. Without looking down (this takes practice) push first one then the other leg forward and outward until they are at around 45 degrees to each other.
4. When your legs are fully extended shout "wheeeeeee!"

See? Easy.

Spoke with seller, bike was purchased in Poland and imported to Ireland, hence the ABS that was otherwise not available on this model in the UK. Service book fully stamped. Not sure what else I can ask for!

I did drop into a Kawasaki dealer today to check out a new J300, more to get a feel for what a Downtown would be like.
Maybe it's me being used to a small 125 scooter but the size of the thing struck me! Probably get used to it but first impressions are it'd need quite a gap to filter in traffic.

Don't worry about filtering! I can vouch that the J300 slices through tight spots very easily.
