Mac65 I have always liked this forum because people are generally helpful and friendly. I think in this instance the squabbles went a little too far. The english would vote for scottish independence but if any of the major english cities wanted independence they would also vote for their independence as well so put it down to british humour.

I'm saddened to read the abuse given to the people of a democratic country and there rights to choose or not the chance of independence! I now know what a lot of you think of us Scots. Thank you very enlightening.
Err, look for the first abusive post in this thread that kicked it all off and tell me whereabouts in the UK that muppet comes from and which country he was abusing.

That's not my issue it's the insulting comments of hoping it all fails and wishing failure on our country! We were given the chance due to the SNP winning a huge majority in the Scottish parliment, which wasn't meant to be possible! And now we have the oppertunity to accept or reject independance! Why do you wish failure if it's a yes vote, you don't live here. I know this is a forum for Scoots and that what it should be. I want to come on here and discuss issues and receive help from everyones vast knowledge on scooters that I don't have. Not to get remarks about an issue that is very important to certain people and be ridiculed by those that it doesn't affect. I can take and give banter cross border, as you say it's all part of who we are! I spent 12 years in the RAF and I am well aware if it from both sides. But please don't take this issue as stupid jocks not knowing what they want! Sorry rant over!!

The people of Scotland have never voted in favour of union.
Lets hope that trend continues.

''The people of Scotland have never voted in favour of union''

one did..... jimmy the 1st.........he was also in favour of political union which probably started the ball rolling tbh. I don't think many English people have been a great fan(apart from rich toffs who own large swathes of the place north of the border) of the union throughout history either considering the hostility of the natives up there towards us (apart from when taking our money)abit like the CPF (cornish peoples front ;-) ) although I doooooo like their ice creams mmmmmmm

How would you like it if England was misruled by a foreign power you never voted for?

Vote Yes, a vote for a better future.
Interesting, but wasn't it Gordon Brown who was the financial boss, then PM of this country throughout the time of the Labour Government? Didn't Brown spend most of those years cosying up to the Banks (and backstabbing Blair)?
Wasn't It Brown who sold off 55% of the UK's gold reserves on the cheap? He announced the sell off first which then depressed the price of gold around the world. Even when money was flowing into the treasury in the early part of Labour Government years wasn't he was still borrowing money?
Didn't he take £5 billion a year out of the pensions industry? Wasn't he in charge over the period in which the final salary pensions became virtually extinct?
Wasn't the RBS the biggest offender when it came to the debts? Aren't they a Scottish bank?
Didn't Gordon go into hiding after losing the election, bonny to pop up again this past weekend so?
Isn't he Scottish?

PS, I do wish the Scots well no matter which way they vote
