Re: Newbie- Fallen in Love with the Helix
Basically the switches are at the base of the board so all that is necessary is to provide the missing extender button that operates the switch....Simples! ??
Trimming my material (rubber) to size is simply done using a sharp knife or surgical blade as used in modelling, simpler than trying to make such a small part out of wood. PM me for a chunk if needed.
Or maybe one could cut up and shape the thick part of a motor tyre? Difficult? - probably.

Gotcha Jim, I will keep that in mind thank you.
I had imagined a sort of black rocker type switch of the old 70's British Leyland dashboard wiper switches type thing

How about this crusty old warrior; it's scruffy but but looks honest and un-messed with. All its issues are easily fixable and offers around £550 is a decent price IMO:

Re: Newbie- Fallen in Love with the Helix
It was one of the few things (total meltdown aside) that I wasn't able to deal with on tour, sadly. I tried using some chemical metal I had on board, but to no avail. I did add a spare manifold to the kit after that. Here, for the amusement of all who tour on modern machines, is the bag of stuff I used to carry on journeys of more than a couple of hundred miles or so:

Add some tools and fluids and you were glad of the Helix's cavernous boot!
