I just finished fitting 18g Dr. Pulley sliders and a new belt on my trusty Burger. Several of the rollers that I took out had severe flat spots and there was gunk that had worn off them in the corners of the races. The belt wasn't too worn and had no cracks or splits. I can't say how old it was - I've put 10,000 miles on it and the Burger had 12,500 on the clock when I bought it with a busted speedo. So far, I'm pleased. What had begun to be annoying chatter at take-off is gone. And I reach highway cruising speed at about 1,000 fewer rpm. We'll see about gas mileage as things bed in.

Fitted a pair of Tucano Urbano muffs for the winter. THEY WORK!! 12 miles in sub-frreezing, windy weather and my hands felt the same at the end as they did at the beginning. That's all I need for my commute but I'll have to take a longer ride soon to see if they hold up. They took a bit of getting used to - the starter button and the turn signals and my hands inside 'mittens' - but it didn't take long and they felt comfortable. Underlayers and insulated boots and a balaclava and the muffs and I'm ready for winter!
