What location did you look at? I had a look at buxton and it shows light rain shower mainly with only heavy rain shower around 1pm (which is probably when we'd stop for a lunch ;)

Looks like a wise decision to me

We have flood warnings, 4" of rain, standing water traffic warnings, poor visibility because the hills into Holmfirth are in the cloud , warnings of winds up to 50 mph winds. For me that tips it from "no longer fun" to "risks I don't have to take"
I do Manchester-Holmfirth-Sheffield a lot in all weathers until the weather closes the road. It is notoriously lethal with very big drops if you get it wrong. Not a route to be taken lightly in bad weather.
WE ARE THE BURG resistance is futile

I havn't got a cat, the thought of riding in pissing down rain all day doesn't exite me, a few showers I dont mind , but riding in persistant rain, I only do to get from A to B, not for pleasure, If the forecast for sunday is showers, I'll be there, but if it stays the way it is, I won't.
just checked met office for the midlands yellow warning, ( be aware), lets hope it changes.

Whimps    Big trad ride from brum to Stratford with Midland Scooters £3 per scoot as annual charity ride instead of rattling the bucket every time in brum .Usually park on the green near bridge if you go direct . http://www.midlandscooters.com/

Ive looked at Matlock weather doesn't look bad for Sunday chance thunder storm 1pm 20% chance rain better weather off the hills Id change it to a Matlock meet then see how it goes just my opinion
