Nonsense!!! If it was a Kymco, the quality would be higher!
Actually, although the engine is by Kymco, the C600 styling is an utter clone of the Tmax, whilst the C650 is rather BMW R1200RT or K1200GT like.
Interesting that in Paul Blezard's review, he says the engine is very similar, but different to, the engine used in Kymco's own Myroad 700 scoot. Which leads you to wonder which came first - did BMW go to Kymco as they had a 650cc engine ready for production? Or did Kymco take BMW's spec as a starting point for their own engine?

The Kymco Myroad 700 has been around since 2007.

On paper at least....I suspect that real versions in metal and plastic were a bit later.

Real enough metal and plastic at the Tokyo motor show in October 2007.

Another journo day tomorrow, not only do they get to test the E-Scoot, and play with the larger scoots if they want, they also get a hotel in Park Lane and tickets for the Olympics (men's Hockey I think).....

They certainly are lovely bikes. Shame about the hefty prive tag, which I think is at least partially due to the badges...

By the way, did you know the C600 and the C650 are of the same cc? 650 or near enough. Why BMW label them differently is a mystery to me.

BMW car badges usually lie about their engine capacity so this is nothing new. Mercedes does it too.

Might be a German bragging thing?

The X9500 was only 460cc - it must be an Italian thing, too. ;)

For those who can barely contain their excitement any longer, according to the BMW UK website, the scoots will finally be launched on Sat 1st September.

Do you think we should wait for the new 2013 models, or just continue slagging this years! ;)
Both! BMW are now describing them as 2013 models!
