This past weekend I managed to do 3 more panels before the Hastings May Day ride on Monday.

I started off with the panels for the belly pan ( I guess thats what they are)

and I am quite pleased with the results, though I am finding that when vinyl wrapping its only as good as the underlying paint job which on very close inspection is not completely smooth. You can see in the above picture where a scrape has occured (fuck know's how but its occured in my ownership) which I had to sand down. That and a few paint errors. This panel has a plastic welded crack in also, now that its been vinyl wrapped should be more secure but may get replaced when funds and a second hand one on eBay are available. You can see in the below picture that I also did the plate at the back which is the only one so far that I have had to put a seam in due to the way it wraps back on itself.

But now I am also thinking a bit further ahead and I have clear wrapped one of the two disc shaped covers on the sides to get a shiney Carbon look rather than matt... I am also thinking about putting a Yamaha logo on it in chrome... but this is what it looks like shiney

I have found a decent picture of the Yamaha logo on-line and recreated it in a highly accurate way. So I can either print it out on the backing of the chrome wrap that I have and cut it by hand or pick up a second hand die cutter on eBay to cut it accurately (selling the die cutter for roughly the bought price when I am done with it)... So chrome or red?... not sure what color to do... I got the chrome to do all the decals but I could make these an exception but either way it would go under the clear wrap. What do you lot think?

Looking great, when you decide where to bling it with decals, will make a fantastic job, and look awesome

Still have six major panels to wrap before I go to decals (side panels on foot well, rear side panels, seat panel and front mudguard). It just seems to be an obvious place to start with decals on the circular variator and oil/filter covers.

Working on the side footwell pieces today... the black I am using is supposed to be airrelease, ie no bubbles, I reckon they sent me the wrong one as I am having the same issues. I am still achieving good results and you have to be about 1 foot away before you see any signs of dodgyness.

One down and one to go, in black, I will be making a template so I can run a red line over the top coming from the fake vent.

been out this afternoon but did this when I came back, the red stripe was free hand cut and spot on, couldn't be arsed with template.

looks really great, you will be getting a dab hand at this... i found that using a stanley knife to cut a few grooves in the plastic in the holes, then using hair dryer over the hole briefly then a circular object (i found the other end of a screwdriver the correct hole size, as hole too hot for finger) melted the plastic into the hole better, then a bit of clear glue for any edge that did not want to sit inside hole, just a thought, as i found when put back on scoot after a few days you do notice a creep over the screw holes.. a new career change for you????
