They still do the Brighton thing in September bikers have "The Brighton Burn out " from Ace cafe trad guys call it "Deck chairs at Dawn" all friendly now just posing on seafront .Video obviously scooter biased as more bikes than scooters go at least 1000 ride from Ace cafe

They have a ride in from Germany every year to for the Ace reunion weekend on the friday then Burnout is on the Sunday .

Plus they are light, agile, easy to maintain and very economical.

Not entirely sure that value retention is any better or worse than other similar size scooters.
Parts availability... I can get Honda parts delivered faster than a fast thing, so no real difference there either.

Actually, value retention is better than anything I have owned. The Vespas always retained more. Last one was a 2010, bought for £4,000 and sold almost three years later for £2950. That's pretty good really.

Thats great DougL. I no i am negative about or appear to be totally negative about this subject but that for me is what it is all about.
I think i can agree that the positive is they do have good resale value so i think this post has a positive that we can aggree on.
Forums for me is about putting it out there .

I wasn't comparing Honda to Vespa/Piaggio, I was talking about the number of aftermarket parts for these bikes like racks etc. It puts the 300 into serious contention as a useful touring machine instead of a maxi IMO.
