Sorry to hear you won't be coming mate. We should catch up some other time. Been long!Data wrote:Mottza, blokes, sorry buddies, just can't come this time round. My bike is going to be off the road whilst I turbo it, fix the tranny bearing and have a front panel fixed too. It has a broken front legshield (not from a accident, just my stupidity). Not serious but I'm stripping the bike to take the aforesaid legshields into the workshop for abs welding and spraying. It'll be off the road for a week while I do all that. I've got bearings, seals and other parts, so it'll be time to roll up the sleeves and get stuck in.
Hope you all have a great time. I'll see you all on some other run outs hopefully. I've got the urge to wander big distances once the bike is back on the road.
What happened to the burgman? Did you drop it?

I'm doing my best to come, I told the other half I was going on that saturday and all was well with the world. Now I've gone down with Bronchitis and when I get the dreaded lurgi it stays with me for ever... but if I get over it in time. I'll be there.mottza wrote:Added Attendees to the 1st page...

Re: 20/9/2014 - 7th Mottza Pie and Mash Ride
Hi halfabusa, no didn't drop it. Was coming back from Manchester. Already had over 400 miles of saddle time that day and was getting slightly tired and mildly uncomfortable as had only made one fuel stop. I inadvertently moved about on the bike to stretch my legs and in doing so pushed myself back into the seat using my toes of my right foot. I usually use my heels low down on the forward rests. I was feet forward and had unfortunately placed my foot too high on the footrest (well above it actually) and the pressure I exerted was considerable. I heard a loud bang and thought I'd been hit by a stone (I was doing 60mph at the time). However, the next day I noticed the front right hand front leg shield had cracked right through horizontally due to the flexing I'd caused. Bugger! It needs to be sorted to stop it spreading.halfabusa wrote:Sorry to hear you won't be coming mate. We should catch up some other time. I'm not actually going to turbo it...I was just joking about that. I'm about to start designing a supercharger for it. It's much easier in most cases to supercharge than turbo charge, especially when there is limited space. Don't know when it will be ready but hope to have it running next year sometime. I'm intent on giving it a low blow to push up PS from 34 to 41. But torque should go up to around 47nm from 36.3. Very worth while. Just got to take the motor down and redesign a few bits and get everything specced. Cost is going to be enormous, but it'll keep me off the streets and it should surprise a few bikers when it's done as I'm keeping the gearing the same. I'll remap it to get the most out of it. It will fly!..errr...preferably in one piece!!
Got to change a tranny bearing too which has become very noisey. So that's me doing some stuff the weekend of the ride out.
How you doing and how is the new bike going? Must catch up.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!
