Your dealer should still be able to get one.

How does that work?

Most engines have peak power close to the top of their rev range
Drago wrote:With the torque, it's a 750rpm over the 400. 1000rpm over the 400 for max hp. Surely this won't be so good on fuel?
RPM alone does not determine fuel consumption, it's all about how much fuel gets burnt.
e.g. at a steady 70mph my Micra does more miles per gallon at a higher RPM than my old Jaguar did.
It's quite possible that the 350 X10 will be more economical than the Xevo 400, the new engine has significantly lower internal friction and a more modern fuel injection system with dual maps.
Drago wrote:Perhaps a 400 will be the better option? It's nearly as heavy as the 400 as well and produces slightly less torque.
Just can't see this being to great in my honest opion. Surely the 400 motor would be better overall?
The new engine has a longer service interval, reduced servicing requirements and may well have lower fuel consumption than the 400.
All comes down to personal preference, the engine performance is but a small part of the whole.
How much performance does the X10 350 really have?
Enough.

Well, Piaggio certainly won't be making both a 350 and a 400 making the same power!
I think engine technology is changing.....look at the car world, where manufacturers are turning to highly tuned small engines eg the VW 1.2 TSi turbo & supercharged engine, the Fiat Twin-air twin cylinder engine in the 500, Direct injection engines, engines with direct valve actuation rather than camshafts. Its all to achieve good fuel economy, goodness knows what they are like to drive......

Just a word on the shimmed valves. Apparently the rockers move out of the way to allow shim removal, measurement and replacement, without removing the camshaft. It is, by all accounts, a marvellous design. (My friend is a mechanical engineer.)

Excellent news, makes the servicing easier.
Sounds similar to the CBR250R valve set up.
It's a vast improvement on the likes of Kawasaki's underbucket shims which are the reason why I have only ever owned one Kawasaki.

You go in & ask, might cost though.
