Well, if haven't noticed it until now, it can't be that major!Funkycowie wrote:I started to strip down the TMax today to wrap the front most panels... only to discover that it has been damaged in its previous ownership of 3100 miles.
The right hand side belly pan panel has got a broken lug and has been scuffed

Re: Blinging my new Max
its not but I thought the panels were pristine but not being able to bend down at the time due to a still dodgy knee I missed it.
I'll just wrap it either way, still rather disapointing

Re: Blinging my new Max
It won't notice if I wrap the yellow panel black, if I wrap clear it will be obvious because the black plastic shows through.
Really not sure what I can do with the lug... I have some of the broken bits but not all.

Re: Blinging my new Max
ok... it is major, what I thought was a scratch above the lug is actually a split...

Re: Blinging my new Max
just so you dont buy anything expensive, i use Wilkinsons Contact adhesive (pink tube) a little on bith surfaces , leave 5 mins and join, may bond the split and only just over a quid, may be able to adhere a small washer where lug is and a small bilt with nylor nut on it

Re: Blinging my new Max
I used some gorilla glue I have, also used it to attach some ABS plastic strip to that section as there is virtually no lug left and what there was does not fit with what is left.

Re: Blinging my new Max
Clear vinyl on the yellow looks awful I am having to get creative... 4 panels done today so far. I am just focusing on the ones that get the dirtiest or are vulnerable to chips so with the belly pan side panels I have black wrapped the tips and added the stripe because it felt like it needed something.
