After 2wheels issue trying to sell his TMax I am a bit wary of trying to sell privately, I know I would lose out more on PX but it is the safer option. I think I'll spend some time getting the TMax ready for sale, either strip all the current wrap off or refresh a couple of bits... the dealer was impressed I did the wrap on her.
There's a question, is it better I sell her clean or with wrap still on? Not sure if its better for the buyer (if privately sold) would rather see that the panels are intact.

Funky
Personally as a private buyer I would like to see a potential buy " in the flesh"
If your PXing shop around those trying to sell the X my dealer offered me £800 over book on my XSR as he wanted my business back and old stock moved off the sales floor.
& if you went to 21st MOTO they have a great workshop team but their PX prices are the worst I've ever been offered so sadly they don't get my business. Remember several dealers are chains now such as Lind group
Happy haggling

I am test riding that S tomorrow, ideal weather to see if I could ride it all year round.Dave Weller wrote:I can recommend Kent Motorcycles, a main Honda dealer, easy to find, on the A2 near Dover

Funny I was looking at the exact same model in Honda of Bournemouth (HOB) the other night.
It will be interesting to see if you miss the weather protection afforded by the TMax, if you buy it. On my recent Scottish trip on the Shadow I can't say I really missed it, in fact riding the Tmax afterwards I felt higher up and more exposed, if that makes any sense!

When I test rode the X I felt no less comfortable weather wise vs my cut down screen TMax so I honestly can't see why the S would be noticeably different. I thought I'd miss all the plastic fairing.

The only thing i find Funky, going from scoot to bike in the weather protection department is..
Feet. A good pair of boots are needed on a bike, get the bikes screen and hand guards right also/
you want have any problems keeping dry.. Mind i had foot deflectors on one bike, think it was a BMW.

This nc is priced at £4.6k with 1500 miles on it and is a 16 reg. If I like it, does it seem possible I could knock them down in price a bit, I'm not great at negotiating

Re: NC750s or x vs Keeping my TMax 500
The expectation generally as a seller is that people expect to knock you down a bit, so likely they've already built in some wiggle to the listed price.
Is this at a dealer, if so them certainly expect 100-200, it's easier (for me anyways) if there's some justification to ask for a reduction. So is there any work needing doing, have they been lazy and not already fitted a rad guard, fenda extenda and hugger (or shocksock) how are the tyres also the chain & sprockets?
