Decided to take the belt cover off and check the condition of the CVT belt on the scoot. It is cracking and need to be replaced and whilst I was there I fitted a new set of Dr \Pulley sliding variator weights but will annoyingly have to strip it all back down again to fit a new belt. Ho hum. I checked a few other things and its clearly due a service and in all my years of servicing bikes and cars this is one of, if not the, filthiest air filters I've come across.

Honda says replace every 12.000klm but at 6.000klm my filter looks like yours
If you cut it the inner paper is clean, with wet weather riding you should replace sooner.
Send from my HTC

Thanks for that. I was a bit concerned as it has full service history and i was a bit surprised to see it like that. If that's normal I'm a bit relived.

Rode it in to work today. This was the first ride with the new dr pulleys in. Only went 1g lighter than sock but what a difference they've made! The bike is just much more responsive everywhere as it sits at higher revs than before. I did think it would affect the economy but when riding round town the bike is doing more for less throttle if you see what I mean? Also noticed the bike has a lot smoother idle now. It was quiet vibey on idle but thats improved noticeably and the pull away is much smoother too. Looks like money well spent! I only put them in for their longevity and didnt really expect to notice any difference really. I couldn't have been more wrong!
