Re: RTA
you will be ok lad, the bike you spent a lot of time on yet you learnt a lot doing it and if they writing off, not sure if you have to accept the first offer, and advise you want the exhaust back, thats if they will let you, not sure if you had to advise on different exhaust
so dont drop a clanger there

Re: RTA
I did tell them about the exhaust when i first insured it, also the wind deflectors. they did not know about the special paint Lyn had on it becuase i did not think it needed to be mention as it was 'just paint' in my mind. They asked what value I would put on it, so I asked them to confirm what they meant by that, so was told they want to know what I would expect them to pay out. So I said I will just look on eBay and found one with scratches for £3800 then said I would go on Bike Trader and found one for £4200 but with scratches.... then pointed out that those are of course standard and I had a stainless steel exhaust, etc. so I had in fact undervalued it or it has increased in value from my purchase. The guy then said 'they wouldn't offer much more than the £4500 it was insured for'
I am glad I am recording all these conversations
Just wish I had the presence of mind to record the conversations with the TP as the guy asked how much the damage would be and that he was willing to pay. Especially as I got helped out of the road by people and my bike moved out of the way but then they all fucked off with out me getting a witness.

Re: RTA
Have you contacted the guy about payment, because if nothing else you will have an excess on your insurance and if you have not got protected no claims your premium will go up.

Re: RTA
That's all in the hands of the solicitors and between insurers, if I interfere I don't know where I would stand.

Re: RTA
Though, eventually, the OP will get the excess back after making a legal claim against the other party, including compensation for injuries, new helmet, new kit etc (plus employer claiming sick pay). Though probably be well screwed about next year's insurance though.spaceprobe wrote:Have you contacted the guy about payment, because if nothing else you will have an excess on your insurance and if you have not got protected no claims your premium will go up.

Re: RTA
so if they saying £4500 max, is this for the scoot and the helmet etc are separate
around that price they seem to be about 18,000 miles what i have seen,,, there are two at alfs motorbikes... if you could throw some dosh in £1500 then you could get there 2013 13 reg YAMAHA XP XP530 T-MAX BLACK MAX (13MY), Automatic, Scooter, Petrol, 5,722 miles. BLACK, BLACKMAX WITH AKARAPOVIC EXHAUST as this way you wont be getting a 2009 to 2011 500 tmax ... http://www.alfsmotorcycles.co.uk/locato ... -13my.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you would be getting a good deal.. if you can get the dosh somehow, seems thinking forward with return values for the future the above could be a good investment
they also have a 2008 tmax http://www.alfsmotorcycles.co.uk/locato ... p-500.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and they down the coast from you near spaceprobe
