Re: What have you done to your Scooter today?
Well I was going to video this little job, pleased I did not now, would have had to delete all the sound track for the swearing...the sill's on the scooter were a bit marked when I got it from the previous owner trying to cart it about on the back of his large camper-van. I think that it is probably from some form of ratchet straps. So I in my great wisdom thought arrr no problem I will just "carbon effect" vinyl wrap them....
...what could be hard about that...lol. Well eventually after about three hours I managed to get it finished with a bit of help from the missus. What I would say is listen to the guys on Utube and "DO NOT BUY THE CHEAP STUFF", next time it will be 3M I think..if I ever decide to do any more.

I like that,.... have you any photo's from the front..did you remove the panels to do it, I found it very hard trying to hold every thing need about ten hands. Might have been easier for me to do them in place...

This is the post I made as I went through it, with frontish views
http://www.maxi-muppets.co.uk/forum/vie ... g&start=70" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I removed all the panels to do the work as you have to fold behind the panel to ensure it stays on better. It can be difficult but the trick I found was to just work on a section at a time slowly taking the backing off then only using a hairdryer/heat gun sparingly for difficult bits. Too much heat or too much stretching warps the finish.
Its been on a year now and I have a few tiny marks in the surface but its still all good. There are a few bits I still have to get around to doing... especially as I accidentally got brake fluid on a unwrapped black section last weekend ruining the finish

Re: What have you done to your Scooter today?
Yesterday I fitted a GIVI rack, a GIVI E55 Maxia 3 Tech. Then fitted the brake light pack to it.
Next was a brake upgrade for the TMAX, so off with the old single 2 pot calliper, and on with an R6 quad pot one. Much better! Did a fluid change at the same time.

Today, I will be stripping down the variator, and putting in a set of 17G Dr Pulley sliding rollers and sliding pieces, but not before an oil change, some new plugs and filters.
Coolant changed for some nice yellow stuff too.
Oh, and I fitted a phone charger 2.1A micro USB hookup under the seat.
Been a bit busy
