Has anybody done any of this before, just asking is it easy? as this could be a cheaper repair for me

Yep! the plastic weld gun is ( i paid £170 for a kit some years ago ) but i don't think i have any rods left.
What i have done before now on cars anyway, cut up a lump of old bumper the same coulour as the one
that needs a weld, if you cut it into strips you can use it like the rods.. Need to practise on old stuff as
it is like Ali you get about 3 sec when you can see it start to melt: then it's too late it is all over the floor.....
I have some glue and powder i use now instead of the weld gun, about £10 from bodyshop suppliers, i will
check out the name for you tomorrow.
Good luck. Lyn.
