edit: I wondered something when looking at those pictures. When i went to the shop to pick the bike up, they showed me the old filters that came out of the bike. There was another filter apart from the round Vbelt filter, which they said was also a part of the vbelt or cvt system. It was shaped like a tube rather than round. It wasn't the air filter for the bike cause i saw that too. it was more like those hoover heads which are long and thin. I couldn't see it in those pictures on the pdf. I wonder if anyone knows what that is and why the instructions on the pdf don't include it being changed as a part of vbelt service?

There are two filters on the vbelt system. One is the round open one which you see when taking the cover off to access the vbelt. The other is on the other side behind the pillion. Both should be changed or blown out with an air line.

surprise surprise... the v-belt light comes on right at 26000 miles mark. Got to do the reset this weekend now...

Done the reset now after a bit of fiddling around. Apparently the fuse needs to be plugged out not longer than 10-12 seconds, otherwise it doesn't reset. It has to be precisely between 3-12 seconds...

I've just changed the cheap belt on my Tmax for a OEM one. The change belt light wasn't on, but does anyone know if I reset it using the jumper disconnect method, it will reset the timer even though the light wasn't on?

I am reasonably sure it will. Its utterly pointless having a V-belt light otherwise!
