It had to happen, turning right a T-junction the back wheel just disappeared under me. Me and the scooter took the rest of the junction on our right side, coming to rest in a drain cover.

I am completely okay - just a graze on my knee exactly where I have a scar from another off I had 30-years ago in the ice on a FS1E

But virtually all the SH300i plastics on the RHS, plus the right grip and mirror are really wrecked (and probably some other bits too).

Given I have an £850.00 excess on a comprehensive policy, should I try and get spares and fix it myself, or just go to my dealer in
Bromsgrove for a quote?

So, anyone got any idea where I can get bits from at less than Honda dealer prices?

(Or anyone got a non-running machine that's been smashed up on its left side - 2010 year in White?)

Sorry to hear about your off , i think diesel spillages are worse than ice at least in icy conditions you can ride accordingly anticipating the worst , Good luck with the hunt for your parts.

I think if you go to a Honda dealer you will be stung. But it's worth getting some idea what the cost will be.

PM Tuning do full body kits for some scooters. They've got an ad on the back of the current Twist n Go, so it could be worth giving them a phone
in case they can help you. (A full kit would probably be cheaper than official parts for one side)

Obviously you have to add the cost of fitting,, will they be a reasonable quality, i.e. not totally out of line!,, Is it the correct model? ,, can you get the colour you want,, is that dealer ok??

I have bought some bits from Italian ebay and Borrozzinomoto.it and had no trouble but I've seen stories where other people have had big problems with delivery.

You will be APPALLED at the cost of official plastic bits. How old is your SH? In insurance terms its probably a write-off! When I had my accident last year - knocked off and my 2008 SH300 slid down the road on its right hand side for a few yards, trashing the RH plastic bits, it was written off. They gave me £2500 for it, which indicates the repairs were going to cost more than £1250

If it gets written off, I'm buying it back as I've found (thanks to a link above) a full set of fairings in Italy at 500 EUR
(albeit the bike might be being rebuilt as black or silver as the colour choice is not wide...)

I know the SH300i is an ugly beast (I bought it for the engine), so maybe not that popular, but I'd have thought someone
could be knocking out cheap OEM crash repair items and making a fortune....

sorry to here about your "off", mate, I love the sh 300, and I'm sure you'll get sorted in the end. Keep your eye on e-bay, and google bike breakers, leaving them your number so you get 1st offer when parts are available.

Sorry to hear you had a spill,& gutting about the scooter damage,I did see a few panels on ebay a week or so back,think they were in blue,if you are interested let me know & I will have a search on there.
