After a topbox for the Burger now. The Suzuki kit is around £330 with fitting kit, backrest and coloured cover. The Givi Monokey (the better one of the Givis) is around the same and the Monolock is about £240. Ive had monolocks before but theyve been a bit flimsy.
Anyone got either the Suzuki or Givi ones they can comment on or even show a pic please?

Re: Top Box, Suzuki or Givi?
I have the Givi Monkey Maxia, colour coded box on my 650 Burg, it came with the bike when I bought it.
Can get lots in it and it doesnt look big as the back of the bike is so wide anyway, the locking system is nice n solid, I like it, but I think its about £265 from Givi

The Givi box on the B125/Ludix I had seemed to be OK.
The X9 box is bloody huge!

Re: Top Box, Suzuki or Givi?
I had a Givi Monolock on my last Burger which I kept because my SH300i came with a nice colour-coded one. I will be putting the Givi on my new Burger when I get it in 3 weeks time. Nothing wrong with the mechanism as long as you're not too rough with it, and it's certainly cheaper than the Suzuki item. So I say go for the Givi.
As for the difference between monolock and monokey, the first is intended for motorcycles. the second for scooters. Don't think they're much different though, apart from monokey tending to be smaller as they are intended for scooters.

The monolocks are lighter and flimsier, the monokeys are much better made. I expect Suzuki, if they use Givi go for the monolock and mark them up

Re: Top Box, Suzuki or Givi?
Its the Suzuki box Id like to see, yes I know what the Givis look like.
Looking at Suzukis site,it seems their own fixing plate is very neat whereas the Givi ones are pretty ugly when you want to ride sans box.
However, without the coloured lid the Suzuki kit is still over £280.... whereas the Givi box I want (an E450) along with plate and backrest is around £200 so a big saving. Just a shame you have to drill the body, as when you sell youd need to plug the holes.

Re: Top Box, Suzuki or Givi?
The main difference between to 'awkwardly' named boxes (I can never distinguish between them easily) are the carrying capacity, thicker construction and a different locking system to the carrier plate. Both models now have larger sized boxes, the Monolock has only a 3kg carrying capacity and the more solidly constructed Monokey has a 10kg carrying capacity. So it's not just the size of box you intend to get but what weight you are going to carry in it also.
My local Suzuki dealer was willing to discount the full Suzuki Burgman AN650 kit at £322 supplied only, with coloured lid and backrest by 15% to £273, but the Givi E470 Monolock equivalent full kit was slightly cheaper at about £260, so due to the discount offered, I will probably be buying the Suzuki branded.

Re: Top Box, Suzuki or Givi?
Hmmm, might be worth me asking the dealer for a discount then
To be honest, I wouldnt want 10kg hanging over the rear wheel, I think 3kg is ample for T shirts, underwear and the like on a hoiday after all thats 3 bags of sugar which is pretty heavy.

Re: Top Box, Suzuki or Givi?
I've got a Givi E52 - had it for six years and it's showing no signs of wear (Autoglym Bumper-Care keeps the outside looking like new).
The only reason I'd replace it is to buy an E55.
Not sure where you are but Firstline Motorcycles in North London do or did good deals on Givi stuff.
