Max has done around six thousand km on the J Costa Evo2 and I'd like to have a replacement set (16) rollers on hand, although I'm hoping I won't need them for a wee while yet. I've been looking at
http://www.sip-scootershop.com who advertise several weight variations... 15.5gm & 16.5gm being listed as 'standard'... and I can't make up my mind as to which is most suitable for my 2007 Black. The weight of the rollers that it came with are unknown to me...I Just fitted it, and fell in love

Any one with experience of this? The rollers I mean.
Also, any recommendations on suppliers. Being in the Antipodes...Google is my guide.
Thanks.

I had a Malossi variator on my old Tmax. I tried 16g and 18g weights. I found the 16s too light and the 18s not enough difference. So I mixed them and it was a good compromise.
FWIW, i have 16g Dr Pulleys in my Tmax now and they are too light fo me. Dropped 5mpg as its just too revvy on motorway. That said if i didn't do so much motorway work I'd be happy with them.

If you poke around Malossi websites, you can download fitting instructions for their variators. This may give a clue about the standard weight. Or more directly, Malossi probably sell replacement weights, so you might be able to get a clue from what they are selling.

I've got a Mk2 with the JCosta. It was fitted by a Tmax-Group member while I was in Germany, 2 + years ago and like you,, I don't know what the weights were.
Clive changed the weights for me, last summer. The new ones are 16.5gr and they, nor the old ones had any marks on them as I remember.
There doesn't seem a great deal of difference in performance from the old weights. Would you get 2 packs the same in a kit?
I do know, there seems to have always been a lot of vibration. Not noticeable in normal riding but when using a bit more revs,, like last Sunday, trying to keep up with Clive,
it looked like a case of vibration white finger when I got home.

Thanks for the advice.
I decided to order both the 15.5gm &16.5gm from S.I.P Scooter. Having to order everything I need via the web...12,000miles from civilization here

...it pays to try as many suppliers as possible. Some just don't answer and others are fine until it comes to the shipping cost. F'r instance:
Carpimoto It. shipping charge for 1x set rollers: e:54.00. No options. Credit card only.
S.I.P shipping for 2x sets of rollers& balaclava : e:22.00. They also offered alternative shipping options. Plus, PayPal.
Easy to navigate website too...although they do have a minimum purchase policy.
Looking forward to the first ride reports from the lucky Lotto winners who get the new T-Max and/or BMW 650!
