Just been in my local dealer P&H motorcycles of Crawley and they have a white 530 Tmax with a sold sticker on it! When I asked how much it sold for I was told £8800! It is one of the first in the country !

Insane, I just bought a brand new Peugeot 107 for my wife today (her second) for £6986 and got £3900 for her three year old one in part ex. Maxi scoots just dont make sense apart from the fun element these days.

£8,800? Isn't that roughly the price of the BMW Sport?

I've been thinking of getting one .is it better than my Mk3? I've had all the various T Max's and each has been a step up from the previous bike. . Had a look at one today and was impressed by the build quality ,and it looks so Cool. But I'm also thinking of the BMW C600 sport which is not out till May. What do you reckon?

If you like and can afford the TMax then go for it. Everyone has different perspectives as to what is their preferable scooter. Wait until May then you decide between them both. Reports are you will probably get a test ride of a BMW.

Wait for a test ride on the BMW, wait 3 months if you like it. Then go and buy the demo bike for at least £1500 off the retail price
Remember it has CVT so you can't thrash it, and BMW de-tune via the computer on the demo bikes too...
Also remember with the BMW it runs canbus so you can't just stick electrical stuff on it willnilly..bolt stuff on via a relay and battery
direct but not through the bikes wiring...

Its a tricky one....the mk4 might be a bit better than the mk3, though I suspect the difference is more in feeling than anything concrete. The BMW is also apparently good, though the reviews seem to imply its a very close run thing between the C600 and TMax. The BMW of course has a lot more power, though I get the impression that the mk4 Tmax is somehow more responsive. The Tmax engine is apparently much smoother than the BMW unit.
However, the great unknown with the mk4 Tmax is the new belt final drive - does it add to the feel and efficiency as Yamaha claim, or will be liable to damage from stones etc and need replacing too frequently as the miserable gits amongst us fear?

I saw the BMW's at the NEC and frankly was not impressed with the fit and finish. This has been echoed in the press with test machines they have tried. That may change of course as production ramps up. On the other hand, I've seen the 530Tmax and have been really impressed with the quality and finish and the fact it is sooooo much less expensive than the unknown BMW's. I know which one I'd go for...and it's not the BMW
