Its getting close to rising from the depths of despair....

so far have done the following... new belt and rollers, new clutch shoes, new rear brakes, new front brakes... replaced front caliper, exhaust manifold removed (without breaking studs) and replaced....Spark plug, air filter, oil all changed.....

all im waiting for now is to get the time to rub down and hammerite the frame while the bodywork is off... might as well do it. Paint the wheels as i have about 6 litres of silver hammerite..
Then i will tcut the bodywork.... dont want to go to the hassle of a respray..... then its back on the road.....

the foresight i have been using is ok.... BUT its not my helix....cant believe i am addicted to a scooter.....

What an exciting project. I have always admired the Helix from afar. I bet if it were reintroduced, maybe with a slightly upgraded more powerful engine, it would sell ok. Get some pics up on the site when it's finished. Good luck and well done so far.

its going ok.... i use it as a commuter so i am not having a respray... as long as its mechanically sound. Love the riding position, by far the most comfortable scooter ive ridden... and ive had the following... T-max, Burgmann 400, piaggio x9, fes 125, fes 250. All have their plus points, i just prefer the helix for commuting.

Yep they're one of a kind, I have had many scooters (and motorbikes) over the years but the Helix has always stayed. Mine has a back-end stutter as well sub 10mph when it gets a little hot in traffic. Just learned to live with it. Always starts first time only left me stuck once - CDI. Just wish it had a bit more oomph for the motorway. To go from comfortable to unbelievably comfortable you need a Utopia backrest from the states.
